On October 15, 2020, Walmart Canada ended its popular Ad Match program, a policy that allowed shoppers to request a price-match on in-store items. To gauge the impact of this change in policy, Numerator surveyed over 800 verified Walmart shoppers to get their thoughts on the discontinuation. By layering insights from the survey on top of purchasing behaviour from our modern consumer panel, we’ve identified distinct shifts in behaviour as a result of the program’s conclusion, as well as future predictions on greater market impacts.
