Top Concerns for Canadian Consumers
While tariffs remain a key area of concern for Canadian consumers, global events, driven by conflict in the Middle East, became top of mind in February. Month-over-month, Canadian consumers became less concerned over changes to immigration policy.
Consumer Support for Canadian-Made Products
Intent to only purchase Canadian-made products decreased in February after a spike in January, potentially driven by recent news coverage. Consumers became slightly less neutral and more likely to disagree with the statement that they intend to only buy products made in Canada.
Consumer Perception of Canadian-Made Brands
Canadians increasingly use whether a brand is owned by a Canadian company and where the specific product is manufactured when deciding if a product is ‘Canadian.’ In-store and online signage has decreased in importance.
