Latest Update: 4/3/26
Top Concerns for Canadian Consumers
While tariffs remain a key area of concern for Canadian consumers, global events, driven by conflict in the Middle East, overtook the top spot in February and March. Month-over-month, Canadian consumers became less concerned about changes to immigration policy.
Consumer Support for Canadian-Made Products
Intent to only purchase Canadian-made products ticked up slightly in March. Consumers became slightly less neutral, so they were also more likely to disagree with the statement that they intend only to buy products made in Canada.
Consumer Perception of Canadian-Made Brands
Consumers remain flexible in how they define “Canadian,” with brand ownership and manufacturing location still as the top drivers for reference. Ingredient sourcing and in-store signage also contribute to perceptions to a lesser degree.
